The Pittsburg Lady Pirates traveled to Mount Pleasant on Monday night (Mar. 10) and were blanked by the host Lady Tigers, 6-0. The loss was the third straight for Coach Madison Sansom’s Lady Pirates, who fell to 4-7 on the young season.

The District 14-4A All-District boys basketball team was released recently and Pittsburg had two players make the second team in junior Kam Loffer and sophomore Can Doddy.

Pirate soccer squad improves to 11-0 in district

The Pittsburg Pirate soccer team improved to 11-0 in District 13-4A last week with a 3-1 win at Chapel Hill to set up a district championship showdown against visiting Sulphur Springs on Tuesday, March. 3. The Pirates and Wildcats battled to a 1-1 draw in the first meeting with Pittsburg winning a shootout, 4-2. Sulphur Springs stands at 10-1 in league play and 17-5-1 overall.
