The Pittsburg varsity baseball team dropped to 3-5 in District 14-4A and 9-7 overall after falling to Sulphur Springs twice last week. The Pirates were defeated 3-1 in Sulphur Springs back on Tuesday, Apr. 1 and the Wildcats claimed a 5-1 victory in Pittsburg on Saturday, Apr. 5.
The Pittsburg Lady Pirate track & field team tallied 87 points to finish fourth at the Westwood Relays in Palestine on March 27. Kaufman won the team title with 198 points followed by Westwood (110) and Ouchiya Christian (99).
The Pittsburg Lady Pirates managed a split in District 14-4A softball action last week, shutting out visiting Paris 18-0 on Tuesday, March 25 but falling in North Lamar, 11-1, on Friday, March 28.
The Pittsburg Pirates fell to 3-3 in District 144A action last week after dropping two games to Pleasant Grove. After a tough 2-0 loss to the visiting Hawks on Tuesday, March 25, Coach Juan Perez’s Pirates were handed a 10-0 shutout in Pleasant Grove on Friday, March 28.
