The Pittsburg Pirates (12-8) will face Farmersville (17-13) in a best-of-three bi-district series later this week to begin the Class 4A, Division 2 UIL state baseball playoffs.
Lady Pirate sports star signs letter-of-intent
The Pittsburg Lady Pirates faced Quinlan- Ford in a best-of-three bi-district playoff series in Grand Saline this past Friday and were shutout in both games, 16-0 and 18-0. The two losses close the season for Coach Madison Sansom’s Lady Pirates at 8-14 overall while the Lady Panthers move on with a 16-7 record.

The Pittsburg Pirate baseball team swept Paris last week to clinch third place in District 14-4A with a 6-6 record as they improved to 12-8 on the season. Coach Juan Perez’s Pirates will open the post-season against Farmersville (15-13) later next week. The Farmers compete in District 13-4A and still have two games against Quinlan-Ford this week.
