Pirates picked fifth in district by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football

Every summer, Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, affectionately known as “the Bible of Texas Football,” releases a preview magazine, previewing the seasons for the high school, college and professional football teams in Texas. While the college and pro teams are highlighted, the main focus is the over 1,500 high school teams in the state.

Phi Theta Kappa Members attend Texas Honors Institute at Texas Lutheran University

Alpha Mu Chi, NTCC’s five-star, award-winning chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, participated in the Phi Theta Kappa Texas Honors Institute July 11-13 on the campus of Texas Lutheran University (TLU) in Seguin, Texas. During the conference, attendees stayed in dorms on the TLU campus, ate in the campus dining hall, and participated in activities in classrooms and outdoor activity areas.

Pirates ousted in back-to-back, one-run bi-district playoff games

The Pittsburg Pirates saw their baseball season come to a close last week as a result of back-to-back, one-run losses to Farmersville. In the first game on Thursday night in Pittsburg, the Farmers rallied for a 4-3 victory and on Friday night in Farmersville, the Farmers scored two runs in bottom of the seventh to claim a 9-8 win.
