The Pittsburg Pirate soccer team took over the top spot in District 13-4A this past Friday night with a 4-2 shootout victory in Sulphur Springs after the teams battled to a 1-1 draw in regulation. It was the third shootout win for Pittsburg this season in three attempts.

Northeast Texas Community College Eagles played host to the Eastern Oklahoma State College Mountaineers on Wednesday, February 5th in a non-conference matchup. The Eagles defeated the Mountaineers 4-3 in the nine-inning game.
Despite a tough 63-52 loss at home to Sulphur Springs on Friday night, the Pittsburg Lady Pirates earned a playoff berth by virtue of their 40-22 victory over visiting Pleasant Grove on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
