Lady Pirates win Quitman Holiday Tournament
The Pittsburg varsity Lady Pirates went a perfect 4-0 to win the Quitman Holiday Tournament this past weekend and improved to 19-3 on the season.

The Pittsburg Independent School District will begin looking for a new athletic director and head football coach after Triston Abron announced last week that he is stepping down from his position at Pittsburg High School.
Lady Pirates edge Saltillo
The Lady Pirates held on for a 46-44 victory over visiting Saltillo back on Tuesday, Dec. 17 to improve to 14-2 on the season. The first period was key, as Pittsburg out-pointed the Lady Lions 14-8. Saltillo won the second period, 15-12, as the Lady Pirates took a 26-23 lead into the break. The Lady Lions were one point better in the third stanza as well, 10-9, as Pittsburg took a slim 35-33 lead into the final frame where both teams bagged 11 points.
