Pittsburg Independent School District honors outstanding staff members at each of the respective schools: High School, Junior High School, Intermediate, Elementary, and Primary schools. Monday evening, November 17, 2025, at the monthly Pittsburg ISD Board meeting, the first presentation agenda item was honoring Pittsburg Elementary School staff members with Pirate Gold Certificates.

The brand name slipped away (Google says it is a trademark of Maxwell House Coffee), but the image of that coffee pot pouring that delicious brew still brings good memories of parents, early mornings, warmth, and stability. We often sat at the round Formica table, planning the day, and lingering over parents’ “good to the last drop” second cups of coffee.
