Honey Harvest!
The weather has been warm this Fall. That’s not great for plants, but it is excellent for harvesting honey. “Why?” you ask. Honey is a viscous liquid; the colder it is outside, the slower honey flows, and vice-versa, the warmer it is, the faster honey flows through the sieves that separate the wax from the honey.
Christmas at the Farmstead
The Northeast Texas Rural Heritage Museum in Pittsburg invites you to celebrate the season with our Christmas at the Farmstead event, where history meets the holidays. Enjoy a unique holiday event while helping to raise funds for needed repairs at both the Depot and Farmstead with your donations and admissions.
City of Pittsburg welcomes Garcia Heredia
The City of Pittsburg has hired Marina Garcia- Heredia. Marina will report directly to the City Manager and serve as the city’s Economic & Community Development Coordinator responsible for the city’s economic development and main street programs as well as assisting the city in marketing, communications, and promotional activities. Marina has over twenty (20) years experience in municipal government with an extension background as a Certified Parks and Recreational Professional. Marina has been instrumental in developing city operated parks, recreational facilities, sports complexes, and organizing large community events such as the Kite Festivals in the City of Laredo, City of Longview, and City of Marshall.
Pittsburg ISD November Board Meeting
On Monday, November 17, 2025, Pittsburg ISD School Board met at 6:00 at the PISD Administration Center on Broach. The School Board had a full agenda. The first order of business is generally public forum items, but there were none at this month’s meeting.
