On May 5, just before 1 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred at the 2500 block of US HWY 271 involving a 1997 Chevy SUV and a 2018 Toyota SUV. The driver of the 1997 Chevy, Marvin Hooper, 77, was traveling south on the highway and veered into the northbound lane, where he collided with the Toyota driven by a 53-year-old woman.
Superintendent Terry Waldrep announced this week that the graduation ceremony slated for May 22 will proceed with a few modifications encouraging social distancing. On April 16, Lisa Wade’s painted mare gave birth to twin mules. Now called Joker and Harley Quinn, these mules had very little likelihood of having been brought into the world; twin mules have a 1 in 40,000 chance of being sired, carried to term, and born. Wade says live birth is even rarer.
