176 Graduating Seniors walked to their graduation ceremony

Pittsburg Honors Graduating Senior Class

The 3106 seats on the home side of Pirate Stadium at Pittsburg High School, on May 15, were filled with parents, family, friends and well-wishers to watch the 176 graduating Seniors enter and take their seats to the music of Pomp and Circumstances. During the ceremony the graduates received their diplomas and honors recognition.as summa cum laude, magna com laude, cum laude, national honor society, distinguished services, and associates degrees. Senior Class President, Michelle Noriega, gave the invocation. Both Valedictorian, Kenlie Mayben, and Salutatorian, Era Osornio, spoke about their experiences growing up, thanked those who helped and inspired them, and their plans for the future. Principal Rustin Ramsey and the PISD Board members gave the Seniors their diplomas. Senior Class Vice President, Akira Wilkens led them through their tassel ceremony and gave the benediction. Everyone in the stands rose with the Seniors and cheered. Beautiful weather, heartfelt speeches, honors recognized, tassels flipped, and 176 former Pittsburg students graduated.

Brothers Husnain Shahad and Rehan Shahid cut the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce ribbon for their location at 204 West 19th Street, Mt Pleasant, Texas.

Pleasant Smiles Dental Joins Camp County Chamber

Brothers Dr. Husnain Shahid, DDS, Mt Pleasant valedictorian and Dr. Rehan Shahid, DDS, MSHM, MBA have two dental centers, Omaha Family Dental in Omaha, Texas, and Pleasant Smiles Dental, in Mt Pleasant, Texas. The Mt Pleasant location held a ribbon cutting for the Pittsburg Camp County Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, May 13, at noon, for their new membership with the Pittsburg Camp County Chamber. Standing in front of the clinic with the two brothers were staff technicians for the twelve operatories (examination rooms), which support four dentists, that cover from simple dental evaluations to highly technical sedation surgical procedures. The Chamber was represented by Executive Director Connie Bradshaw, Assistant Jean Frankovitch and Chamber President James Wallace. Executive Director Bradshaw asked that those attending the ribbon cutting sign their names and keep the ribbon as a recognition of their membership.

Camp Democrats Headed to Convention

On the second Tuesday of the month, May 12, 2026, at 6:00 pm, the Camp County Democratic Club met in the Douglass Alumni Center, for their monthly meeting. Linda Roberts, President of the club, took them through the agenda. There were thirteen members in attendance, including the Camp County Democratic Chair, Phyllis Parnell.
