Emmanuel Baptist Church held their Christmas Eve candlelight service at 5:00 pm. There were almost 175 congregants and their families in the service. Pastor Kyle Smith stood in the pulpit to facilitate. Singing a cappella, the congregation men stood and sang “Hark the Heralds AngelsSing”. Womenthenstood and sang “Angels We Have Heard On High”. The children of the church read the Christmas story from the book of Luke. Service ended with candles being lit, overhead lights out, and everyone singing “Joy to the World”.
The Mount Pleasant Chamber Orchestra performed their 2025 Christmas concert on Dec. 20 at the Whatley Center of the Performing Arts. The program, entitled “Holiday Mix Tape,” featured a collection of varying festive songs.
The four Commissioners met December 23, 2025, at 8:30 am for the last meeting of the year. All four commissioners; Jed Hefner of Precinct 1, Tommy Rozell of Precinct 2, Perry Weeks of Precinct 3, and Steve Lindley of Precinct 4, were in attendance. Steve Lindley presided because Judge A J Mason was not available.
Todd Newman, the Pittsburg Intermediate School Principal recently honored six of his staff members with Pirate Gold Certificates. Those recognized were:
