Council Discusses Expanding Cemetery

The Pittsburg City Council recently met. The meeting started at 4:00 attended by Mayor David Abernathy, City Secretary Maricela Fuentes, City Manager Clint Hardeman, and Councilmen, Rico Willis, Todd Diviney, Larry Hamilton and John Livingston. The meeting agenda was strictly followed: 3. No public statement was made by any Pittsburg citizens.

Commissioners talk aged county trucks

Camp County Commissioners semi-monthly meeting was on December 10, 2025, at 8:30 in the County Courtroom at the County Courthouse here in Pittsburg, Texas. In attendance were County Judge A J Mason, Precinct One Commissioner Jed Hefner, Precinct Commissioner two Commissioner Tommy Rozelle, Precinct Three Commissioner Perry Weeks, and Precinct Four Commissioner Steve Lindley. The agenda had two items.

Pittsburg Elementary Students Deliver letters to Santa’s Mailbox

Santa watched from his local residence balcony this morning as 470 Pittsburg Elementary School second, third, and fourth graders walked over from their campus in the dewy morning last Friday, the 12th, to Santa’s mailbox sitting in front of the Shipitt office on Jefferson Street. They then walked over to the holiday-decorated Alley for group pictures, and back to their campus. The students were aided by their teachers, school staff, and police officers who manned the cross streets, ensuring their safe round trip.

Home for the Holidays Parade

The Pittsburg Home for the Holidays parade had Cub Scouts, Girls Basketball players, Beauty Queens, Junior Varsity Cheerleaders, a hearse, fire trucks, police cars, fire and rescue, Intermediate and High School bands, Mayor Abernathy, Constable Shawn Kennington, Chamber President Cass Moquette, lots of Reapers, the Grinch, and Santa.
