Mr. Charles “Speedy” Willis, 91, of Pittsburg, Texas passed into heaven suddenly on December 20, 2020. Mr. Willis was born July 14, 1929 to Brice Eli Willis and Esther Louise Wilson in Hughes Springs, Texas.
George Stultz Richards, 91, a resident of Pittsburg formerly of Wylie, passed away Thursday afternoon December 17, 2020 at home with hospice care.
Sitting at Los Pinos, ready to be served a bottle of wine, Pittsburg resident Doloras Spencer never expected that the one serving would be her son, Marine Corps Private First Class, Ruben Spencer. Ruben had left for boot camp in March and, due to COVID as well as injuries, had not seen his family for over nine months. Many of his family members did not expect to see him until the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022, so it was a great surprise for his mother and siblings to have him home this Christmas.
According to The Texas Department of State Health Services, Texas has decided to prioritize people who are at the greatest risk of death from COVID-19 for the next phase of vaccination. People 65 and older have averaged more than 70 percent of the COVID-19 deaths in Texas, as well as those with medical conditions having an increased risk of hospitalization and death.
