Sheriff Alan D. McCandless retired Dec. 31, and he’s taking the title of the longest-tenured sheriff in Camp County history, with him.
The Texas Department of State Health Services has divided the state into Trauma Service Areas (TSAs) for the purpose of monitoring COVID case counts and implementing executive orders from the office of Governor Abbott regionally.
For the past eight years, Pain or Pleasure, coowned by Micheal and Michelle Goodson, has hosted an event to raise money for families in need during the Holidays. The end of 2020 was no different as the tattoo shop hosted its annual give-back event.
It has been a year now (already?) since I came to NE Texas to publish three outstanding community newspapers (Mount Pleasant Tribune, Pittsburg Gazette, and The Steel Country Bee). I had some big plans, just as many of you did, for 2020. Part of those plans were to meet and get to know as many of you as possible that make up these great communities and to do my very best to provide good and relevant content to our readers as well as build that bridge between our consumers and local business owners; who without each other simply could not flourish. The lifeblood of our communities is always the people. Unfortunately, we were met with an unprece-dented challenge we all know now as COVID-19. Something that literally changed life as we know it for everyone.
