The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the East Texas Council of Governments (ETCOG) for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2019. Texas proposes to transition STAAR Test to online by 2022

The Texas Legislature has required the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to conduct a plan to transition all State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) to online by the 2022-2023 school year. It is expected that the transition will level the playing field for students who need accommodations, expedite test results, reduce cost and promote innovations in future assessments.
