PISD hosts 5th Annual Troy Segura Classic
Last Thursday, Pittsburg hosted 26 different schools around east Texas for the 5th annual Troy Segura Classic, in memory of Troy Segura who was a Senior at Pittsburg High School when he passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020.
School board reviews bond sales results
Following a budget workshop, the school board met to discuss proposals for the PISD Vehicle Maintenance Building and review the Bond Sale Results and adopt the order authorizing the issuance of the bonds.
Commissioners discuss upcoming Pioneer Days
During the latest Camp County Commissioners Court, the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce requested for use of the parking lot at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr Ave and College St for a car show during Pioneer Days. Connie Bradshaw with the Chamber said the closure of the lot would start on Sept 20 at 4 p.m. The commissioners approved this request.
It’s Pawpaw time
Seven years ago, Roger asked a mail order fruit tree company if there were other fruit trees he could grow in Northeast Texas, zone 7b/8a. We already had the requisite pear, plum, apple, and others, but we still had room in our orchard. The Florida- based company suggested pawpaw. Roger was game, so he ordered three seedlings; our adventure with pawpaw began.
