PHS Homecoming Court announced

Pittsburg High School has revealed the court for this year’s homecoming. 9th grade: Taylor Duffey & Kenly Willis, 10th grade: Taeya Brewer & Makenzie Isom, 11th grade: Karsyn Lee & Kaila Mitike, 12th grade: Kelly Guereca, Sunny Lankford, Randieunna Jeffery, & Vivianne Marquez, and King Nominees: Eduardo Reyes & Carter Lankford. The PHS Homecoming Game will be this Friday at 7:30 p.m. against Tyler Grace.

Local author’s novels receive awards

Local award-winning author Ian Griffin is at it again. His latest book, “Trash Can Terry,” has received another literary recognition. It just was awarded a finalist for the 2024 Storytrade Awards for Regional Fiction-USA Southwest category. Griffin has Pittsburg as the setting for the book. “Trash Can Terry” is a period fiction book in the late 80s and early 90s. It is a story of a budding romance between Lucas and Autumn.
