The Pittsburg Independent School District held their regular meeting for the month of September and presented Pirate Gold awards to teachers and staff of the Junior High School. Shannara Hashaway was not in attendance, but was still recognized along with Melody Wright, and Peggy Schneider who received these awards.
The Camp County Republicans presented posters to Pittsburg Independent School District on Wednesday, September 17. The posters display the Ten Commandments as found in Exodus 20:3-5 in the Bible and are to be posted in every classroom throughout PISD, totalling 231 classrooms.
Every year as part of Pittsburg’s Pioneer Days festivities, one senior at Pittsburg High School receives the title of Peach Queen. Miss Tatum June Reynolds was crowned the 2025 Peach Queen on September 17 at the Pittsburg High School Auditorium.
The 2025 PHS Homecoming Court has been selected by the Pittsburg High student body. The Queen and King will be crowned at the homecoming game on September 26. The ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m and the game will kick off at 7 p.m.
