Lions learn about Mercy Ships

The Pittsburg Lions club hosted Nancy Mc-Clanahan as their guest speaker at one of their recent meetings. McClanahan works in the donor services department of Mercy Ships, a non-profit organization that sends hospital ships filled with volunteer professionals who provide life-changing surgeries to those in need. McClanahan explains Mercy Ships operates the two largest hospital ships in the world. They are called the Global Mercy, which is mainly docked on the west coast of Africa, and the Africa Mercy, which is docked at Madagascar.

4-H week recognized by commissioners

The Camp County Commissioners heard a presentation by the Camp County 4-H Club members on the importance of 4-H in Camp County. Many of the club’s officers were present at the meeting, including the 2025-2026 president, Reagan Lowe. She expresses that 4-H is important to her, “Because it has given me so much confidence and knowledge.”
