Haley Bucsanyi, a student at Northeast Texas Community College in Texas, has been named the 2020 Dr. Mary Hood Texas Region Scholar and will receive a $1,500 scholarship.

CASA of Titus, Camp, and Morris Counties is pleased to welcome Gaby Rodriguez. Gaby took an oath before the Honorable Judge Rolston in Titus County Court on August 4, 2020. Gaby completed 30 hours of training and courtroom observation. Gaby is the newest CASA Volunteer who has accepted her first case and advocating for a child that is in the foster care system. CASA volunteers work for the best interest of the child/children making sure they have a safe, permanent home as quickly as possible. CASA volunteers are citizens in our community, just like you, that want to make a difference in a child/children’s life while they are removed from their families and placed in foster care. The Pineywoods Iris Society recently gave $500 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation to provide a scholarship for an NTCC Agriculture student. The group recently visited the NTCC Ag Center to present the gift.
