Not A Number But A Neighbor

Not A Number But A Neighbor

Dr. Rodney Burrow, Associate Director for Primary Care and Director of Medical Affairs at Titus Regional Medical Center, is a long-time resident of Camp County and has been a physician for the past 21 years. During that time, he’s seen nothing like COVID-19. “With the flu, the majority of the time, when someone is diagnosed we can often predict what will happen during the course of their illness. We can’t do that with corona virus. Some people have very mild symptoms, others are very sick and fighting for their life in ICU,” said Dr. Burrow. “I had a friend who was sick and ran a 102-104 degree fever for over two weeks. His two teenage sons had mild symptoms and felt better in just a few days. Most people have mild symptoms but others decline very rapidly, especially seniors and those with other health issues,” he added.

David Freeman, a local artist with over twenty years of professional experience, has taken time this month to spread joy throughout Mount Pleasant during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project began with Diamond T Outfitters contracting him for window murals, and La Vie company followed. Soon, almost every business in downtown was decorated by Freeman’s hand. Each business chose the design for their storefront, and Freeman delivered.

Who do we trust?

Who do we trust?

There is no life that doesn’t have disappointment from time to time. Even with our best made plans, there are times when circumstances and situations turn out way differently than we expected. But the way we respond can make all the difference. Frustrations can be either an opportunity for spiritual growth or a destructive blow. Although we can easily become bitter towards life and people when things don’t go our way, as Christians our response should be to depend on God and trust His way no matter how things turn out.
