On June 4, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed into law HB428, a bill which provides coverage for all women across the state to receive ovarian cancer screenings, regardless of any financial statuses or typical barriers faced by women in Texas.
Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) announced on June 1 a temporary increase in food benefits for families participating in the Texas Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) through September 2021. This temporary increase specifically covers the purchase of fruits and vegetables.
