The City of Pittsburg recently announced the startup of a new opportunity for low-income homeowners in the area called the HOME Program. In this program, eligible homeowners have the opportunity to trade in substandard living for a newly constructed home.

NORTHEAST TEXAS — The long-discussed Marvin Nichols Reservoir is gaining momentum. The project, proposed on the main stem of the Sulphur River in Red River and Titus Counties, would flood more than 66,000 acres of heritage farmland, hardwood forest and wetlands in Northeast Texas to pipe water to the DFW Metroplex.

Northeast Texas publisher Kenny Mitchell has been named the new publisher at the Steel Country Bee in Daingerfield, the Pittsburg Gazette and the Mount Pleasant Tribune. Mitchell brings over 20 years of experience in the newspaper industry to his new role, including nine years at the Dallas Morning News.
