Mr. Edward “Jed” Jackson, age 57, of Galveston, formerly of Pittsburg passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 in League City. He was born October 2, 1963 to Edward Jackson, Sr. and Sandra Tennis Jackson in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Celebration of Life service for Jimmy Wayne Watson, 72, of Pittsburg will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Pittsburg High School Auditorium with Reverend Kyle Smith and Dr. Dan Goad officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home. Mr. Watson passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, in Pittsburg.
A commercial and commodity processing food show was held at Region 8 Education Service Center on Thursday. The food and beverage items qualified for use in the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and Smart Snacks. Attendees were encouraged to rate the food on a scorecard according to appearance, flavor, texture, and “would you order”. Some of these products will be used in school meals as well as commercial catering.
Mickey Joe Guffey was riding to pick up his girlfriend when he felt heat at his right leg. He looked down to find flames shooting from the side of his motorcycle, a Yamaha Road Star 1700. Unable to quench the flames he jumped off before the bike was engulfed. Mickey doesn’t know what caused the fire, but wonders if it was a gas leak.
