This season has shown the Pittsburg Pirates have tenacity, perseverance, and grit, as Coach Abron put it. After their smashing victory in Hallsville last Friday over Brownsboro, 53-0, the Pirates are preparing for a matchup with Quinlan Ford in Sulphur Springs on Nov. 19.
Quilts created by local quilters are on display in the Whatley Center foyer in what is now an annual tradition for the NTCC art department. For the fifth year, quilters bring their treasured art to share with the community. The exhibit runs from Friday, Nov. 12th through Wednesday, Dec. 1st. A reception is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 17th at 12:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center foyer, and refreshments will be served.

PLEASANT, TEXAS (November 8, 2021) Senior Chairman Ken Pilgrim and the Pilgrim Bank Board of Directors announce the retirement of Kenneth Smith from the Pilgrim Bank Board of Directors after 48 years of faithful service to the bank. Smith’s retirement was announced to the Board of Directors during their August 2021 meeting. The Board of Directors honored his years of service with a reception at the meeting.
Why do diamonds sparkle? In part, it has to do with how hard and clear diamonds are. It also has to do with how light reacts within the prism of the diamond. In the end, though, diamonds sparkle mainly because of the way they are cut.
I met Kelly years ago when I spoke at her church, and afterward, we had shared stories of her life and mine, some good, others well, not so great. But we praised God for how He’d brought us to a place of redemption and hope for our future.
