Several ladies were recognized on Nov. 15 by the PISD school board. Each of them has been with the school for several years. Kelley Fink--Math Life Skills teacher (12 years); Ann Waldrep--Reading Special Education teacher for grades two through four (18 years); Mary Ruth Townsend--Math Special Education teacher for grades two through four (25 years); Maudie Watson--Speech Pathologist (33 years). In support of National Diabetes Awareness Month, the Pittsburg Lions Club marched from the Anvil down main street to the Prayer Tower and back. The focus for 2021 is prediabetes and prevention of diabetes. According to the CDC, one in three U.S. adults--88 million people-- have prediabetes. Over 1,000 Texans sign petition to stop Marvin Nichols

More than 1,000 Texans have signed a petition condemning the proposed Marvin Nichols Reservoir. This is a major milestone for Preserve Northeast Texas, a growing group of landowners, business owners, community leaders, conservationists, and local elected officials who have banded together to voice their opposition to one of the biggest transfers of private land to public in modern history.
