The 2021 Peach Queen contestants were given their scholarships on Mar. 28. Their efforts raised over $50,000 for the 2021 Pioneer Days, and was above and beyond anything raised in past years.
The state welding competition was held Apr. 1 at Sam Houston State University. The twelve areas in the state of Texas held qualifying rounds earlier in the year, and the top three teams from each area advanced to the state competition. A total of 36 teams competed, and scores were tallied on an individual basis as well.
The Pittsburg Lady Pirate and JV Lady Pirate track team continued accumulating hardware, this time at Gladewater’s Walter Derrick Relays, held last Thursday.
The PIttsburg Pirates entered last week in the midst of a seven-game winning streak on the diamond, which included the team’s first four district games.
The Camp County Democratic Party precinct and county conventions took place on Mar. 19. One resolution passed out of committee, and will be submitted to the state convention as a resolution for the Democratic Party of Texas.
