State sends resources to Florida
Texas has deployed state resources to Florida to assist in response and recovery efforts in the aftermath of the devastation caused last week by Hurricane Ian, one of the most powerful storms to hit the United States in the past decade. “Texans understand the urgency of hurricane disaster response and recovery efforts, and our state is swiftly sending more support and resources to Florida as they continue responding to Hurricane Ian,” Gov. Greg Abbott said.
Carter BloodCare Drive
Camp County Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will be hosting a blood drive on October 10. A Carter BloodCare bus will be at 2244 US Hwy 271 N, Pittsburg from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
PISD Cross Country takes the field
The Pirate and Lady Pirate Varsity teams, running 2K and 5K respectively, finished as Meet Champions in the Titus County Fair Cross Country Invitational on October 1. The JV teams, both boys and girls, also took Meet Championships. In Junior High, the Pirates won the Championship again, and the Lady Pirates came away as runner up.
