The Pittsburg Rodeo Association held Henry Wilson’s second annual Bulls and Buckles saturday Oct. 17. Wilson worked as stock contractor and in four hours, 62 bulls were rode successfully with only two riders sustaining minor injuries. The night was not sanctioned, and it hosted 39 bull riders, six junior bull riders and mutton busting. Most that participated professional bull riders that ranged from not only different states but also different countries. Nine of the riders were from Brazil and two were from Mexico.

Rotary District Governor, Jack Welge, met with the Pittsburg Rotary Club last week for the governor’s annual visit. He complimented the club on its many achievements including a Presidential Platinum Citation from Rotary International’s President Holger Knaack. In addition, he complimented the club on their community support with money they raise from their flag program that allows them to give scholarships to graduating seniors, to support first responders with a shrimp boil and other community projects.

Humans are not the only ones that can carry the Coronavirus; our furry friends can as well. Texas has the largest number of pets that have or have had the virus. Since April, the United States has had 66 confirmed cases within animals, a third of which came from Texas. This is not including all of those that may have been infected but were not tested. The virus spreads mostly through respiratory droplets like coughing, sneezing, and talking. Though there is no scientific evidence that animals can give the virus to humans, all of those that have been infected were around people at some point.
