Rotary Fights Against Polio

The Rotary Club of Pittsburg marked historic progress toward a polio-free world on World Polio Day, October 24. Rotary members in Pittsburg met at the Prayer Tower on World Polio Day to take a photo of the check for $1000 raised by club members. They are supporting Rotary International’s push to raise awareness, funds, and support to end polio, a vaccine-preventable disease that still threatens children in parts of the world today.

Early Voting is coming to an end

Early voting is set to end Oct. 30, leaving Nov. 3, election day, the last day to vote for presidency. In Camp County, there are 7,904 registered voters and only 3,295 have decided to participate in the early voting. That means there are still over 50% of Camp County residents that are registered that need to vote. As of Oct. 26, there have only been 277 residents that have voted by mail, while only 3,018 voted in-person. All Camp County residents are encouraged to vote. Through voting, you are able to obtain a leader that represents you and your ideas.

Golfing Fore Breast Cancer

A golf tournament was hosted by the Princedale Ladies’ Golf Association for Tonette Harrel on Saturday, Oct. 10. The winning golf team was Kathy Carpenter, Bryan Zachry, Robert Brummel, and Bryce Burns. Tonette would like to thank all of the people that played in the tournament and all of the businesses and individuals that donated their time, money, auction items, and baked goods to make her benefit a complete success.
