God’s Closet/ Camp County Cares hosted a drive-through food pantry for Camp County residents, NTCC students and anyone over the age of 70 from surrounding counties. The event held 19 pallets of food delivered and catered to many of those in need. The program is always looking for volunteers to help with their cause. Psi Beta chapter inducts new members

Northeast Texas Community College recently inducted new members into Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for students at two-year colleges. Inductees included (pictured from left): Maritza Quinones of Mount Pleasant, Kortnie Griffin of Pittsburg, and Amie Hurley of Deport. Not pictured was Bryan Zuniga of Mount Pleasant. Psi Beta chapters sponsor programs, activities, and participation in community service projects along with opportunities to present research papers at regional meetings, attend national meetings, and compete for national awards. Students are chosen for membership based on their outstanding overall scholarship and their scholarship in the field of psychology. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently approved Remdesivir as the first drug to treat COVID-19. And while a vaccine has not yet been finalized, consumers are anxiously awaiting a cure. Ant that means scammers are cashing in by luring victims with phony remedies and treatments. Better Business Bureau warns consumers to watch out for fake cures and prevention measures that could trick you into falling for a coronavirus scam.
