Celebrate our Veterans

Celebrate our Veterans

Nov. 11 marks a very important day for the United States. It is a day where every man and woman that has served our country receives recognition for their sacrifice. 2020 marks the 101st year that we as a country have celebrated Veteran’s Day. According to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, this history of Veterans Day is both wonderful and triumphant for the United States. When the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28. 1919, this marked the end of World War I. Seven months earlier, the fighting had ended between the Allied nations and Germany on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. This is why Nov. 11, 1918 is regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars.” President Wilson decided in 1919 to make Nov. 11 the first Armistice day, which was later changed to Veterans Day.
