The Pittsburg Lady Pirates put together a win streak over the past two weeks, but games against the top teams in the district put a damper on the streak, almost as much as the week’s anticipated weather.
The Pittsburg JV track teams traveled to Texarkana Monday for the District 15-4A JV Track Meet, with both teams bringing home top-three finishes.
The state welding competition was held Apr. 1 at Sam Houston State University. The twelve areas in the state of Texas held qualifying rounds earlier in the year, and the top three teams from each area advanced to the state competition. A total of 36 teams competed, and scores were tallied on an individual basis as well.
The Pittsburg Lady Pirate and JV Lady Pirate track team continued accumulating hardware, this time at Gladewater’s Walter Derrick Relays, held last Thursday.
The PIttsburg Pirates entered last week in the midst of a seven-game winning streak on the diamond, which included the team’s first four district games.
