Guests at the Douglass Alumni Community Center enjoyed fine dining, live music, and inspiring speakers at the Distinguished Honors Dinner on October 22. Alice Hill, vice-president of the Douglass Alumni Association, invited honorees Homer Jones, Kenneth Reeves, Sr., and Kendall Wright to this special occasion and presented a plaque on which are their names. This plaque has several spots for more names as the Douglass Alumni Community Center continues to support the community and highlight those who have served the community. Hill remembered her grandmother telling her, “Give me my roses while I live.” Thus, she thanked the honorees and said, “You still have a lot to do. We thank you while you live.”
