Porter Cemetery Part 2: WoodmenLife offers help in cleanup, efforts continue in State recognition

Since introducing Porter Cemetery last week, many Camp County residents have shown interest in reviving the grounds. Most have gone simply to see the forgotten resting place, but one organization has decided to go beyond that. WoodmenLife, affiliated with Woodmen of the World, has decided to make a difference. WoodmenLife plans to assist in clearing the overgrowth, removing the dead trees, and cleaning the grounds and stones.

Mr. Joey Hamm, Sales Engineer of Peoples Communication returned to the Court during their regular bi-weekly meeting, Wednesday, Feb. 26 to present a proposal to add the courthouse, annex, and jail to their fiber cable system. Hamm had asked the Court’s permission two weeks earlier to lay underground fiber cable under the courthouse lawn, which was granted.
