The Gazette has moved to four-day work week

Please be advised that effective immediately, the Pittsburg Gazette has had to move to a four day work week and will be closed on Fridays until further notice. We will continue to cover the news and needs of our community as always and we apologize for any inconvenience. School Board okays teachers’ pay during virus closings

During the rather irregular meeting of the Pittsburg ISD School Board meeting Mar. 23, the Board approved a motion to continue the teachers’ salaries during the current school shutdown. The meeting was irregular due to Governor’s 10 maximum person in a group order, so the meeting was televised into the outer offices and on Facebook.

Commissioners Court approves supplies for Fire & Rescue, new policies

At the March 25 meeting of the Commissioners Court, the county and city approved splitting the cost of emergency air bottles for the Pittsburg Fire and Rescue. The air bottles have an average of 15 years of shelf life before they must be replaced. Judge Mason remarked that the fire department’s Wesley Kaiser had sent him a full report and analysis of the required bottles and their function in entering any smokefilled environment.
