Area agents to host Virtual Cattlemen’s Program

The County Extension Agents for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Camp, Franklin, Red River and Titus Counties are working together to provide the Quad County Cattlemen’s Conference to be held virtually Friday, May 15th from 8 AM-1 PM. This program will cover topics including weed identification and control options, the economic value of a set calving season and value-added marketing, vaccination protocols for beef cattle, external parasite control and a cattle market update from our Extension Economist. This program will offer producers who have a Texas Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicator License 2 CEUs.

Pirate Marching Band’s drum major, Skyler Brown, was announced as the Razorback Band’s newest majorette on April 24. She will join four other majorettes and two feature twirlers in the marching band. Brown said that she decided a month before auditions that she wanted to continue

New COVID-19 case confirmed in Camp County, new symptoms observed

On May 2, County Judge A.J. Mason announced the confirmation of a seventh positive COVID-19 case in Camp County. Mason said of the news from DSHS: “This evening we received notification from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) of a seventh positive COVID-19 case in Camp County. No further information was provided. Our Local Health Authority will work closely with DSHS to obtain further information.”
