At the regular monthly American Legion Post 422 meeting on October 27, Commander Frank Harrison was presented with an honorary award, “The State of Texas Admiral in the Texas Navy” from Texas Governor Abbot.
The Pittsburg Rotary Club makes an annual donation of headphones to every third grader at Pittsburg Elementary School. On October 22, the Rotarians distributed headphones to eight classrooms ensuring each student will have headphones that will be able to be used with their school issued Chromebook laptops.

During the latest school board meeting on October 20 for the Pittsburg Independent School District, two faculty members were recognized for their hard work and dedication. Thaddeus “Earl” Monroe, and Ida McLemore of the Maintenance and Transportation Department received Pirate Gold Awards for their service.
