Dr. Beverly Spearman and Dr. Jessica Richardson of Spearman Eye Care gave a financial donation to the Pittsburg Lions Club last week that will be forwarded on to the Texas Lions Camp for Kids with Disabilities. Spearman Eye Care has been big supporters of the Pittsburg Lions Club for many years. They work hand in hand with the club to provide eye care to those who may not be able to receive eye care otherwise. Thank you Drs. Spearman and Richardson for all you do for our community. The King’s Country Property Owners Association will have its Annual Yard Sale starting Thursday, October 14 and running through Saturday, October 16 – from 8am until 4pm each day. It’s been two years since the sale was held. With over 100 King’s Country households donating items for this event, it will be one of the largest community yard sales ever held in the Mt. Vernon and Winnsboro areas.
Harbor and Hayes Hardeman won the first place ribbon on Friday for their Peach Cobbler. They also won the $100 first prize which was presented by Sandy Thompson of the Chamber of Commerce. Everyone who tasted the dessert praised the boys’ culinary skill.
