Statewide, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 has been on a downward trend for a few weeks now. This includes the hospital region that Pittsburg and Camp County are in. In December 2020 and January 2021, COVID-19 hospitalizations were at a non-sustainable level and new positive cases were staggering – more than twice as high as were seen at the peak of the summer of 2020.

Just this week, stayrescue. org published a story about a mother dog and her puppies who froze to death inside a dog house that was unprotected.
