A Celebration of Life was held for Jimmy Wayne Watson on Saturday in the Pittsburg High School Auditorium. Mr. Watson dedicated himself to educational excellence at PHS from 1970 to 2008. Quality soil--whether for your garden or your pasture--depends upon many factors to be considered good. We know the soil is good when the garden produces like it’s on steroids, or when the pasture remains green well into a drought.
The time after WWII was a continuing of our nation’s recovery and the beginning of a new and improved life. Actually, it was the best of times and the worst of times. For the worst, look at the American farm, which began to collapse in the war’s aftermath. The small, family owned farm, which had organically fed our country so well, was slowly pushed aside as large conglomerates took control. Combined with this were the beginnings of a chemical revolution that radically changed the face of farming.
The internet has been in tears for the last couple of weeks. In honor of the 25th anniversary of the children’s TV show “Blues Clues,” the original star, Steve Burns, recorded a brief video directed to the kids who watched him all those years ago.
