Several property owners from Precinct 2 were present at the regular meeting of the Commissioners Court Wednesday morning. They expressed their concern about the condition of roads in their precinct; namely CR 2417, and CR 2418.
The City Council met Oct. 4 in regular meeting and held the first reading of an amendment to the City of Pittsburg Zoning Ordinance Chapter 4 Business Regulations regarding Food Truck Regulations. Per City Manager Clint Hardeman, the City of Pittsburg has received several calls from food truck operators who wish to sell their products within the city limits. Currently, there are no regulations concerning food trucks, but local existing restaurants have expressed concern that food trucks be held to proper regulations and not undermine the brick and mortar establishments by not being held properly responsible for their product. The ordinance that Hardeman submitted has been reviewed and discussed by some restaurant owners, and is believed to be fair. It is also similar to the recent ordinance passed in Mount Pleasant.
Beloved area physician, Dr. Ted Dawson Trimble, was killed in a two-car collision on Highway 11 on Oct. 9. Trimble was 67.
