Owner and manager of Cherokee Trace Enterprises and Campers Dream RV Resort on the shores of Lake Bob Sandlin, Bryan Freisth had a ribbon cutting for a Little Free Library on Dec. 22 that served a double purpose: an offering to the community, and a Christmas present for his mother, Glenda Mae Freisth.
Christmas carols drawn from Isaiah’s prophecy of the birth of Christ inspired designs for two of 33 trees on display during the Carols in the Park exhibit this year. An event that occurs only every other year, Carols in the Park was a wonderful success, inviting people from around the region to enjoy a relaxing walk through a forest brilliantly decorated Christmas trees.

Kaiden Butler delighted the audience with his rendition of “Fur Elise.” Over 20 students demonstrated their talents with a versatile repertoire including Glen Jude’s performance of “How Great Thou Art”, and “Christmas Time Is Here” played by David Flores.
The PISD high school student officers of the Future Farmers of America delivered Christmas cheer to the ladies and gentlemen of Pittsburg Nursing Center. During their annual Christmas party, the FFA collects donations and then the officers of the club have the pleasure of delivering them. All of them have been involved for at least two or three years; this marks Jacob Lindley’s fourth year.
