Metesha Shields was showering when she heard a muffled boom somewhere in the house. She discovered her bedroom was filled with smoke, and immediately called the fire department. Memorial services for James Lee Hirsch, 79, of Mineola will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Mar. 12, 2022, at First Christian Church in Mineola with Pastor Craig Lacey officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home. Mr. Hirsch passed away Feb. 27, 2022, in Elkhart Oaks Care Center.
