Train derails north of Pittsburg
At least twenty-four Union Pacific railroad cars derailed on the track north of Pittsburg extending north and south of the crossing over CR 2110 about 1 p.m. on Mar. 6. Still under investigation at press time, crewmembers had cleared the derailed cars from the right of way by Monday afternoon, and planned to have the tracks open for traffic by the morning of Mar. 8. No hazardous spills or flammable cargo was reported, however some auto racks were reported as being part of the cargo. COURTESY PHOTO
