At the store, I made my way through the produce department and came to shelves with containers of strawberries, grapes, mango, and cantaloupe. I grabbed seven cold, yummy packages of fruit and some cold water in another aisle. I added a few cold Gatorades from the front coolers too.

There are those who say that sending prayers is not enough. Social media emojis are not enough. There are those who will make it a political issue and rail about gun control. There are those who will say that every school in our country should have policemen and metal detectors. And, there are those who will disagree with me and call me simplistic.

First dual credit student to receive two AA’s at NTCC graduates high school

Eighteen-year old Jessie Parchman, Chapel Hill senior, has the distinction of being the first dual credit senior student to receive more than one associate degree at NTCC. Parchman graduated Chapel Hill high with a GPA of 3.9, and graduated NTCC with an Associate of Arts in Psychology and an Associate of Science in Biomedical Science.
