After the Run-off Election Day on May 24, the position of Camp County Commissioner, Precinct 2 has finally been decided. Tommy Rozell won a close race with 195 votes to Tim Reynolds with 173 votes.

After the horrific tragedy in Uvalde, Texas, we here at your community newspaper felt like we needed to do something to help another community in need. In that light, we are accepting donations for the families in Uvalde with a page in your paper dedicated to the folks in Uvalde. During the Pittsburg Hot Links Festival on April 30, Off-Duty BBQ of Mount Pleasant won the People’s Choice Award, first place in the Chicken category and second place in both the Hot Link and Sausage categories as well as a First Responder Award.

Dr. Mary Hearron was named as Distinguished Professor Emeritus and presented with an NTCC medallion by Dr. Clinton. Dr. Hearron has worked at the college for 37 years as a faculty member and mentor to students and to other people as well.
