We Americans own too much stuff. We have dishes we don’t use stacked in our cabinets, clothes we don’t wear hanging in our closets, and exercise equipment (thousands of dollars of the stuff we had every intention of using when we saw it on some late-night infomercial that promised us Hollywood Abs in just six weeks) just wasting away under our beds.
I know, that title probably makes you wonder where this column will go. Well, here it is.
In recent months, I’ve lost track of how many “we’re hiring” signs I’ve read at places of business. And seeing them sends me to my early years of high school and the many jobs I held in such a short time.
Life is hard. Life is confusing. Life can be just about any bad adjective you want to choose, if you so choose. It can also be every good adjective you can conjur. Life is amazing. Life is marvelous. Life is exciting. It is all in the attitude that you frame it with every day.
