Five ladies were awarded the Pirate Gold Award on February 27 during the regular meeting of the PISD Board of Trustees. As teachers in Pre-K, Alma Garcia, Jamie Castaneda, Melissa Davis, Bridgette Sweet, and Laura Garcia work with the very little children. Their classes are at full capacity this year with roughly 102 children on campus.
The 2023 Camp County Youth Project Show was a success on March 4.
Six young ladies, each a junior in high school, are contestants in this year’s race for the crown of the Peach Queen. Each contestant for this exclusive title sells tickets to the Queen’s Coronation Pageant and the Community Leader’s Luncheon, and also sells advertisement space in the Pioneer Days Festival guide as well as sponsorship opportunities for Pioneer Days events. Each contestant will also host her own fundraising events during the short window of time between now and May 9 when the 2023 Peach Queen will be named.
