The Asian Giant Hornet Will Get Here

No doubt, many of you have by now heard about the Asian Giant Hornet (Vespa mandarinia) that was first spotted in Washington State last December, having migrating there from Western Canada. Under the heading of, “if it bleeds, it leads,” the news media has begun hyping it calling it the killer or murder hornet. OK, we agree it’s certainly something about which to be concerned and unless a way to stop it is found, it will eventually get to NETSEO. It will not, however, be here next month and perhaps not for several years, unless it finds a way to hitch-hike its way here.

East Texas Junior Golf Tour to start in June

The East Texas Junior Golf Tour is in its fifth year providing summer golf tournaments for East Texas area youth. This tour allows youth golfers to compete in tournaments and accumulate points based upon where they place in each tournament to qualify for a 36-hole Tour Championship to be played at Mount Pleasant Country Club. In the Tour Championship the youth golfers have caddies to carry their clubs and give advice on Club and shot selection.

Plastic frogs and topwater plugs are working early in 2-7’ in or near grass and lily pads Crappie are good on jigs and minnows in brush piles and standing timber. Catfish are good on earthworms, cut bait, and shiners in 6-15’.

Finding new ways to recreate ourselves

I’d like for you to consider this fictitious, but possible, scenario. Two men suffer horrific injuries that permanently alter their lives because both are left quadriplegic. While the consequences of their respective injuries are the same, their responses could not be more different. One man considers his life to be over, useless, shriveled up forever. He sits in his chair and lies in his bed wallowing in self-pity because he is dependent on others for his care. For the rest of his days he never moves passed the grief and anger of his injury.
